When me and my wife, Maloree, were almost married we wrote down what we took to be our identities, how we define who we are. I take my identity pretty seriously because it is the foundation for how I think, what I think, how I live, and more. I ranked certain aspects of my identity in a list with 1 being the most fundamental and important. There are potentially hundreds of things that contribute to my identity, but these are most crucial to me. The list I created is as follows.
The foundation of my identity is my relationship to God. I try to live my entire life, in every way, with God as my guiding principle.
I have a few activities that take up most of my time throughout my week.
Obviously, my career takes up an enormous amount of my time. I work as a freight broker in Georgia for PCDX Transportation Logistics, LLC. It is a business my parents started. We work for shippers who need product shipped to different locations across the country, and we use online tools to hire drivers/carriers to haul the shipment.
I grew up playing baseball from nine years old to twenty years old. Baseball was at the core of who I was. My baseball career ended with a broken foot, and I have much more important things that are at the core of my identity, but I did not give up being an athlete. Sports and being active is a big part of my life that mostly plays out in pickleball at this time in my life. Me and my wife, Maloree, play together very often.
As you can imagine from the website, another activity that makes up much of my schedule is my research. I try to wake up every day at 05:30 to study and research topics that I am interested in before the work day begins. The first things I do are pray and read the Bible. After this, I continue to whatever topic I am researching in philosophy, theology, etc.
Lastly, I spend much of my time with my family. Me and my wife play sports together, go to church together, and pretty much everything else. We spend time with each other’s families on the weekends as well.
